How to Remove the Password or Security from a PDF File

If you need to upload a document to your Betano account, but it is protected with a password or restrictions, our file verification system will not be able to review your document.

You can remove this security by following these steps:

Before you start: Make sure you know the PDF file’s password. Without it, it will not be possible to remove the protection.

Option 1: Using Google Chrome (no programs needed)

1. Open the PDF file with Google Chrome.
2. Enter the password when prompted.
3. Once opened, click the print icon (or press Ctrl + P on your computer).
4. Under “Destination,” select Save as PDF.
5. Click Save.

The new file will download without a password.

Option 2: Using Adobe Acrobat Pro

1. Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Pro.
2. Enter the file’s password.
3. Go to File > Properties.
4. Select the Security tab.
5. Under “Security Method,” choose No Security.
6. Save the file.

Option 3: Using Online Tools

1. There are websites that allow you to remove a PDF password.
2. Go to a trusted PDF unlocking tool.
3. Upload the protected file.
4. Enter the password if required.
5. Download the file without protection.

Important: If you use online tools, make sure they are trustworthy to avoid exposing your personal information.
